Dr. Hancock was born and raised in Chicago. After graduating from Lane Technical High School he went on to fullfill his prerequisites for chiropractic school at the University of Illinois-Chicago. After graduating from the National University of Health Sciences in 1995, he joined his uncle, Dr. Richard Warren, DN in practice where they founded Northwest Health Center. They continued to practice together for 10 years until his retirement. It was at this point that Dr. Hancock founded Chicago Sports & Chiropractic Medicine in 2005.
In order to fullfill his vision of becoming a versatile physician he took postgraduate training in acupuncture, functional medicine, physical rehabilitation, whiplash injury biomechanics and sports medicine. In addition to being a Graston Technique instructor and a Certified Kinesiotaping Instructor he also holds a Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (one of only 300 chiropractors to obtain this distinction). He is also a certified FirstLine Therapy® Healthcare provider through Metagenics, Inc. and a TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instrcutor (Titleist). In his career he has had the privilege of teaching at all of the US Olympic Training Centers, Mayo Clinic, Green Bay Packers, universities, hospitals and in multiple European countries. He has worked with athletes of all ages and levels and has seen first hand the essential role chiropractic can and should play in the sports medicine arena. He is presently a team physician for the Chicago Force football team of the WFA.

Outside of his professional life Dr. Hancock enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, skiing, coaching basketball and becoming a better guitar player.
Dr. Virgilio C. Castillo was born in the Philippines and grew up in the Northside of Chicago. He is a 1989 graduate of Lane Tech High School and received his Bachelorate of Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995. Dr. Castillo received his Bachelorate in Human Biology (1997) and his Doctorate of Chiropractic at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL in 1998. Dr. Castillo completed his post-graduate studies in sports medicine at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO in 2007.
Dr. Castillo is a board certified chiropractor through The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™. He is also a certified acupuncturist. He has continued his post-graduate studies to become a certified KinesioTex Tape-Practitioner, a certified Graston Technique provider, and a certified FirstLine Therapy® Healthcare provider through Metagenics, Inc. Dr. Castillo continues to learn and tries to keep current on the latest wholistic treatment and rehabilitative methods to better service his patients.
Dr. Castillo has serviced the northside community for the past 10 years. He has participated in various community health fairs and continues to educate the public on chiropractic and wholistic healthcare.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Castillo enjoys being with his family, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He is an avid tennis player, you may find him teaching tennis part-time for the Chicago Park District, or playing a tennis league or tournament. He also enjoys playing golf, participating in triathlons and short distance fun runs. Dr. Castillo is also a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. His passion and involvement in sports has helped him develop his practice philosophy.
Dr. Chen was born and raised in both Chicago and the west suburbs and graduated from Downers Grove North High School in 1983. He recieved both his B.S. in Human Biology (1988) and D.C. from the National University of Health Sciences (1990). In addition to being a board certified chiropractor and has also earned certifications as a chiropractic sports physician and acupuncturist. Other certifications include custom foot orthotics and kinesiology taping.
Dr. Chen has over 20 years of clinical experience and during this time he has taken numerous post-graduate courses in the following areas: advanced spinal/extremity manipulation, acupuncture, auto injury management, exercise/rehabilitation, soft tissue disorders and nutrition.
Dr. Chen's interest in acupuncture prompted him to complete formal programs at National University of Health Sciences and The Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. He also received advanced training in both China and Taiwan. He most recently completed training in Dr. Tan's Balance Method (http://www.drtanshow.com/) style of acupuncture, which is well known for its quick and effective treatment of pain. This unique training allows Dr. Chen to incorporate traditional Chinese acupucnture with cutting edge techniques based on patient's needs.
In the sports care arena, Dr. Chen has experience as the attending sports chiropractor for EVP, AVP and FIVB events. He was privileged to provide care to beach volleyball players from semi-pro to olympic level for over 10 years.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chen enjoys playing volleyball, softball, golf, snowboarding, salsa/swing dancing and playing piano.
Liz Neuffer, LMT - Massage Therapist
Elizabeth Neuffer, a clinical massage therapist, is a Woodstock, IL native and attended Marian Central Catholic High School. After graduating, she became a student at the Soma Institute, a clinical massage therapy school in Chicago where she completed over 700 hours of massage work. She did her externship at Northwestern University Hospital in the Oncology Department where she was part of a research program working on cancer patients and their families.
From there Liz began working at a multi-disciplinary clinic in Spring Grove, IL, which included chiropractic and physical therapy. She then joined Chicago Sports & Chiropractic Medicine in 2005 where she continues to provide various types of massage including full body, pre-natal, sports massage, lymph drainage, myofascial release, and trigger point release. She is licensed and NCTMB. Along with doing clinical massage, she has had spa experience at Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, WI.

Deanna Janes - Billing Manager/Assistant
Deanna has been working in chiropractic since 1998 and began with CSCM in 2005. Her past and present experience includes, working with patients, such as scheduling and therapies as well as managing much of the “behind the scenes” tasks. She also is responsible for all account management and collections. Deanna is more than happy to answer any questions you may have, believing that communication between our patients and our office is of the utmost importance.
Margaret Lera - Receptionist/Assistant
Margaret began working in health care over 10 years ago in various roles. She became part of CSCM in 2009 and has been ably serving the needs of our patients since then. Margaret is our front desk specialist and is responsible for scheduling, insurance verification and coordinating referrals. She is most likely the first contact you will have with our office and is happy to answer all your non-clinical questions regarding your care. Being born in Poland, her bilingual fluency allows us to better serve the health care needs of our Polish speaking community. Her goal is to make sure that you have a relaxing and professional experience during your care at our office.
